Safety Clinic for Women Only
(Note: Any woman who has attended the Basic or Women-Only clinics before can attend free if a friend signs up with them. They can ride together or bring two vehicles.)
This clinic is for women only and specifically designed to meet the needs of novice
off-highway drivers. This is the same agenda as our Basic Off-Road Driving Clinic. In the class we will cover basic information about
4WD vehicles (just enough to understand what is going on). We will cover a lot
of safety and environmental concerns. But the largest part of the clinic is
driving technique to get you through a variety of terrain. A handout of the
material covered is provided. Here is a list of items we will cover: Off Road
Vehicles, How 4WD Works, Driving Technique, Safety, Pre Run Check, Survival
& Peace of Mind Kits, Options & Accessories, Getting Unstuck / Winching,
Post Trip maintenance, Trail Etiquette & Tread Lightly. This clinic does not address vehicle build-up options and issues.
The clinic will answer these questions and many more questions:
Each vehicle will receive a
copy of Jim Allen's Book "Four-Wheeler's Bible", a $30 value.
This 200 plus page book is chock full of color pictures to illustrate how it works, what to do, and what to avoid.
- How do you avoid damage to an expensive vehicle?
- What is the critical difference you need to understand about operation of 4WD systems?
- What do you need to avoid, when descending a steep Hill?
- What impact does an automatic transmission have on off-road driving?
- How can you improve your traction by 250%?
- How deep can you safely cross water?
- What is the most important safety item you can bring?
- What are 10 ways to effect vehicle recovery?
You need only a stock SUV or 4WD. The clinic is about 4 hours of classroom and 4
hours of behind the wheel practice. Hungry Valley has a practice area for 4WD
that we will use. Everyone has a lot of fun. It is a great way to learn about
your vehicle and build confidence.
Any woman who has attended the either the Basic or Women-only clinic previously can attend free if a friend signs up with them. They can ride together or bring two vehicles.
The class is limited to 10 new students.
Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area is located in the Tejon Pass about
50 miles north of Los Angeles, CA just west of the Interstate 5 corridor. For

If you are not completely satisfied and do not feel you received good value for your money and time,
send us an email explaining why and the full price of the clinic will be refunded, no questions asked.
You may keep all handouts as our apology.
"Thank you again for putting on such a great class!
I learned a great deal more about my Jeep and am looking forward to coming back for the advanced class
in the near future to hone my skills.
I have attached some pictures that I took, although I think the pics don't accurately portrait the experience.
Please feel free to share them with the rest of the classmates."
" I really had a blast in the class and learned so much more than I expected to.
Everyone - instructors and participants - were all great, very supportive, friendly and fun.
The actual practice and trail run, hands-on stuff, definitely put it all together for me.
I'm glad I know what my car's limitations are!
Great class! (Wish my boyfriend was able to attend!) "
Hi Tom! I wanted to thank you again for such a great class. I learned so much and had a great time doing it!
I have already recommended your class to several people.
