Happy Holidays<\/p><\/div>\n

Hard to believe that it’s the Christmas season already. Where did the year go? (Considering what a year it’s been, everyone is glad to get this one behind us.) But despite the pandemic, we at Badlands intend to stay in the spirit. In fact, I hope everyone in the four-wheeling world is able to find some cheer in the times.<\/p>\n

To help with that, I wrote this little ditty. OK, I cribbed from a hit holiday tune. But I hope you appreciate the effort.<\/p>\n

With apologies to poet Thomas Oliphant and others who have contributed to Deck The Halls\u009d over the years, here is my offering.<\/p>\n

(Cue the music.)<\/p>\n

Fa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Deck the Jeeps with parts galore<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Tires, lights and winches more<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Don we now a new front bumper<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Troll the ancient trails and railways<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Mount a roof rack and swing-out bumper<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Add the lockers for better traction<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Lift kits keep us \u02dcbove the boulders <\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

While we do the Rubicon Trail<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Compressors keep our tires happy<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Hear the new rock sliders grinding<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Heed the advice from the Trail Leader<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Despite the snow and rain a-coming<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Stake the tent and douse the fire<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Bag the litter and plug the tire<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

Pack the Jeep and load the gear bags<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la la<\/em><\/p>\n

To the sunset we go a-cruisin’<\/strong>
\nFa la la la la, la la la laaaaaaaa!<\/em><\/p>\n

There you have it. An ode to four-wheeling that surely will be a hit around every 4WD campfire. (Well, mine, anyway.) But who knows? This could take off and become a cult classic. And you, a fellow four-wheeler, can proudly claim to be a part of the fun and excitement expressed in those hallowed words.<\/p>\n
