At the wheel of a 4×4 Land Rover Defender, you will take on real Highland routes through volcanic deserts, rocky mountain terrain, glacial rivers, and wide-open valleys. Follow the historic Kjölur Route, reach the geothermal wilderness of Hveravellir and explore the colorful Kerlingarfjöll mountains.
The journey continues through the remote Hungurfit and Emstrur tracks, where river conditions, visibility, and Iceland’s famously unpredictable weather can change the route from one day to the next. A private expedition leader evaluates the conditions and guides the convoy throughout the journey.
